An Architectural Heritage appraisal of Fort Camden has been secured by Cork County Council and in turn has been submitted to the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government. The Council has also commissioned Tobin Consulting Engineers to provide a cost estimate for bringing the exciting buildings up to an acceptable standard.
The Local Area Plan for Crosshaven states that the Fort land should provide an amenity for the local residents, provide holiday accommodation to enhance tourism in the area, and be a base for water-based activities.
