There are three events worth keeping an eye on this September.

The first is the annual Round The Great Island Row which starts at Cobh pier at 9.30 am on Sunday 7th. This 14 mile row will raise money for charity and marks the last event of the coastal rowing season.

A week later on Sunday 14th, Crosshaven will host the 6th Crosshaven Challenge Triathlon. This Ulster Bank sponsored event hopes to raise €20,000 for charity. The event comprises a 500 metre swim, a 10km cycle and a 5km run. Visit http://crosshavenchallenge.com/ for more.

Finally Cove sailing club are running their annual Sun Cruiser Cobh to Blackrock race, also on September 14. This is a SCORA event and first gun is at 14.00. Find out more at www.covesailingclub.com
