The Atlantic Quarter will be the first major building project to be undertaken in the redevelopment of Cork’s docklands. The proposal by Howard Holdings is awaiting planning permission from Cork City Council and when complete will include office space, a conference centre, a 4 star hotel and residential units.
The overall docklands development project is being overseen by the Docklands Development Forum which was established in 2007 as a means of bringing together all the key local stakeholders as well as central government. The Forum is chaired by former UCC president Professor Gerard T. Wrixon and is due to report to the Government this summer. |
