The weekend of the 14 th August saw the East Cork village of Whitegate host the Coastal Rowing Federation’s All-Ireland Coastal Rowing Championships. An estimated 2,500 rowers from throughout Ireland took part, and the event was hailed as a great success. Lower Aghada last hosted the All Ireland in 2004.
The Irish Coastal Rowing Federation congratulated Whitegate rowing club on the success of the event, saying they did themselves and their community’s proud.
The outstanding club award for 2010 was presented to Portmagee.
