The Cork Harbour Forum
Established in 2006, the Cork Harbour Forum provided an opportunity for stakeholders living and working in Cork Harbour to engage in dialogue, while also raising awareness of the Harbour. The Forum was a multi-stakeholder group comprising individuals and organisations, both statutory and non-statutory, with an interest in the Harbour. Participation was open to any interested stakeholder. Events included the Cork Harbour Open Day, and information evenings on topics such as flooding and recreation.
One of the key outputs of the Stakeholders Forum was the Integrated Management Strategy for Cork Harbour, published in 2007. This evolved following widespread stakeholder consultation on the identification of issues and actions to be undertaken.
The Cork Harbour Management Focus Group
The Harbour Management Focus Group was established to help implement the Integrated Strategy. The HMFG is made of up representatives from key statutory bodies involved in the day-to-day management of the Harbour. |
